Assistance is provided by the San Antonio Minority Business Enterprise Center directly to socially or economically disadvantaged individuals who own or wish to start a business with a minimum of 51 percent ethnic minority ownership.

Such persons include:

  • Asian Pacific Americans
  • Asian Indians
  • African Americans
  • Eskimos/Aleuts
  • Hasidic Jews
  • Native Americans
  • Spanish Speaking Americans
  • Puerto Ricans

The MBDA network provides business referral services at no cost to the customer. However, for specific management and technical assistance, the San Antonio MBEC does charge a nominal fee.
